From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot alden was receiving an annual flight review as required by the ponderosa aero club from instructor bower. After a takeoff from Boise's Gowen field, the Boise ATCT reported seeing something abnormal on the left landing gear. Upon landing, the left wheel locked up resulting in the aircraft having to be towed from the runway. Investigation revealed the backing plate on the wheel pan had fractured thereby puncturing the sidewall of the tire. No other damage was discovered. Insp. Domingo is checking the records for the last maintenance performed on the left gear to determine if a crack had been previously observed in the backing plate. A mrd will be filed. This is a final report.
