From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot was practicing takeoffs/landings by himself. About 15 seconds after touchdown, the right main gear collapsed, causing the aircraft to veer to the right. Damage was minimal for this incident, estimated to be less than $10,000 by a/p, Mr. Joel valle, including engine tear down. This incident was unavoidable as FAR as the "pilots actions". Important: the delay in submitting this report was necessary as our office was cooperating with "security" in an investigation. The investigation did not involve the pilot, but did the owner and the aircraft itself. At 1500 hrs. On 2/12/98, "security" told this ASI that their investigation was complete as for this aircraft at this time.
