From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On November 14, 1997, on an instrument approach into int, the pilot selected gear down and did not receive a gear down indication. He aborted the approach, subsequently lowered the landing gear manually, and performed another instrument approach into init to a landing. During the landing, the right gear collapsed and the aircraft veered off the runway to the right side. The investigation revealed a bent push-pull rod that connected the electric gear motor to the right main gear. The rod was bent in such a way that the pilot would have received a gear down and locked indication after lowering the gear manually.

As the FAA filed it
