From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: at approximately 4 miles on final to hou rwy 4, capt. gough, who was at the controls, stowed the hud combiner and leaned toward the instrument panel to adjust an instrument. The combiner swung down and struck him on top of the head. Capt. gough instructed f/o cotter to complete the approach and landing which was uneventful. Capt. gough then taxied the aircraft to the gate. After completing the shutdown check list capt. gough instructed f/o cotter to call scheduling and have him replaced. He reported some weakness and nausea and agreed to wait for paramedics before deplaning. He was examined by paramedics then taken to a local hospital for further evaluation and released later that day.
