From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: pilot reported that he encountered brief unforecast icing conditions 11 NM south of Togiak. Ice completely coated the windshield and the first foot of the leading edge of the wings. He was unable to clear the windshield of ice with defrost, had no forward visibility, and elected to divert to Togiak using side windows for visibility. He circled over the runway once, noting it was unplowed with flat lighting conditions. He executed a normal approach, flared high and bounced. During the bounce, the nose tire separated from the nose fork. The aircraft came to rest on the runway with damage to the propeller. privacy data omitted
