From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Narrative: per pilot remarks, at approximately 1115Z and 130 miles northeast of mci we had a complete "a" hydraulic system failure (quantity and pressure). Aircraft was in level cruise, iml, at 31,000 feet (flight level). Performed all check list and diverted to mci. Manual flap and gear extension. Declared an emergency and landed without incident at 0718. CFR was standing by. Contract maintenance replaced #5 flap actuator, manufacturer number 1U1110, which was discovered leaking. After performing a normal operational check of the "a" hydraulic system, the aircraft was returned to service. This incident #CE98IGO0055 is closed with this report.
