From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On may 26, 1998, a fairchild Saab 340A, N325PX, registered to mcc financial corp. was operating as flagship 5124 level at 15000 approximately 70 miles northwest of Little Rock, Arkansas when the left engine malfunctioned requiring shutdown. The crew observed a yaw and then noticed the left torque gauge fall to zero, and at the same time observed the itt rise to 900 degrees. Upon crew observation the fuel was cut off with the condition lever. The crew then declared and emergency and diverted course to Little Rock. The landing was uneventful, and no injuries occurred. The airplane was operated under express airlines I air carrier certificate. Subsequent investigation revealed failure of the hmu (hydro mechanical unit) which was replaced and returned to service (reference ptrs #SO259804884). An SDR was filed with the mem-fsdo. This investigation and report are closed.
