From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Acft esper an engine failure in flight and made an emergency landing on a road, the acft struck a guard rail on landing causing substantial damage, (-23) during cruise at 12,500 feet in VFR conditions, the pilot, Mr. Hanson, noticed the manifold pressure had dropped from 32 down to 25. Mr. Hanson increased throttle with no results. Shortly thereafter the powerplant began losing power. Mr. Hanson noticed a dirt road below him and descended to land on it. As the pilot prepared the aircraft for landing, he dropped the gear and determined that the aircraft had minimal power. Mr. Hanson landed the aircraft on the dirt road and during the landing roll, both wings struck two posts attached to a cattle guard. The powreplant stropped without any pilot action. The subsequent investigation of the teledyne Continental TSIO360FB s/n 310502 revealed the #3 cylinder rocker arm had come loose and the studs pulled out of the cylinder. An FAA form 8101-4, malfunction or defect report was prepared and submitted by the cooperating repair station.
