From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-5)N86983 experienced a failure of the LH MLG strut upon landing rollout at Offutt Afb, Nebraska. The propeller struck the concrete surface and displayed evidence of rotation under a low engine power setting. The PIC and passenger reported no injury. Subsequent investigation disclosed a fatigue failure of the LH MLG u-bolt, p/n 1-9805, at the forward attach point, allowing the gear to pivot forward. The displacement of the LH gear strut allowed the MLG wheel to tuck under the strut assembly and induce an instantaneous failure of the LH MLG axle. Review of the aircraft records indicated the LH MLG attach u-bolt had exceeded the 500 hour replacement interval by 1200 hours. privacy data omitted

As the FAA filed it

^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^
