What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Acft left wheel locked up on landing, and the acft flipped over. (-23) during landing roll on runway 18 at asg, directional control of the aircraft was lost. The aircraft departed the left side of the runway, digging the outboard side of the right main wheel into the dirt. The right wing tip contacted the ground, damaging the wing tip and the aileron. The aircraft then flipped over, landing hard on the top of the left wing, collapsing the left hand lift strut, and bending over the tip of the vertical stabilizer and rudder. The propeller blade tips were curled, and the spinner was crushed as the aircraft nosed over. The pilot, his wife, and their five month old baby escaped with minor injuries.(shoulder harnesses were installed in the front seat, and the baby was in a child restraint device which restrained the child in the rear seat during the entire mishap). The brake system was found to be operational and in good repair.
