From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(.4)The engine lost power following the first power reduction during the initial takeoff climb. The agricultural airplane was loaded with 1,000 pounds of rice seed. The pilot was able to dump the payload as he maneuvered the airplane to clear trees in his path. The airplane touched down in a marshy grass area. Upon touch down, the main landing gear tires sank in the soft mud, and the airplane nosed over, coming to rest in the inverted position, partially submerged in water. Examination of the wreckage by the operator and the FAA inspector revealed that the loss of engine power was the result of fuel starvation as result of a blocked fuel vent tube. (-23)the pilot reported that the airplane lost power following his first power reduction after takeoff. The airplane landed in a marshy field. Upon touchdown, the main landing gear sank in mud, and the airplane nosed over. The pilot sustained minor injuries.
