From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Engine began to run rough enroute. Left fuel tank was selected and carb heat applied. Engine recovered for a short time then lost power. Emergency landing was made in a plowed field. Toughdown was to the west headed for the fence of the adjacent field. The aircraft passed through the fence row and the drifted snow, striking a fence post with the left wing, and then went over on its back in the adjacent field.
