From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Owner states that he took the newly-purchased aircraft to the airport to do taxi and ground runs. He stated that he had no intention of flying the aircraft. He stated that on ground run he veered off the right side of the runway and applied power to get the aircraft back onto the runway. At that time, he says a gust of wind lifted the aircraft. He found himself airborne and in order to avoid an immediate crash, took the a/c around the field in order to get it under control. He again lost control of the aircraft, the wind lifted and it came to rest in trees on the right side of the runway. Substantial damage was done to the aircraft from impact with the trees and ground.
