From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Upon takeoff from runway 21 at Williamson county airport, the aircraft struck a large flock of birds. The right engine quit. The crew followed the emergency checklist to secure the engine. The aircraft diverted to cape girardeau (cgi) because of weather conditions at mwa (200 ft. overcast and 1/4 mile), birds at mwa (a flock of over 100 birds near the runway) and the winds did not favor the ILS for runway 20 (320 degrees at 10 KTS). The aircraft landed at cgi without incident.
