From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While practicing emergency landings at the New Richmond Municipal Airport (rnh), the pilot stated that after lowering the landing gear the sink rate increased more than expected. He felt he was going to land short of the runway, so he added power and said the engine did not respond in time to correct the situation. The aircraft landed short of the runway on a section of mowed grass just prior to the actual runway. The aircraft crossed a drainage ditch and came to rest in a plowed field. The aircraft received minor damage to the right wing tip. Investigation is ongoing. Sections 21A, 21B, 21F, 21C, 21D, 21E, 32, 39, 42, and 43 will be amended as information becomes available. (-23 amendment) the aircraft was inspected and an engine run up was completed. No problems were found that would have contributed to the incident.
