What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) Pilot heard engine backfire and stop running, the pilot then meneuvered the aircraft to a field to land. The aircraft touched down with right main gear and tail; bounced approximately 20', it then touched down with left main causing it to separate from the fuselage. The aircraft then pitched nose down resulting in the propeller to strike the ground and the aircraft to flip tail over and slide to an inverted position approximately 100' away from initial contact point causing damage to both wings, left main gear, powerplant, propeller and vertical stabilizer.
