What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
(-23) I spoke with the pilot who stated that the landing and the beginning of the roll out was uneventful. As the aircraft slowed down to 15 mph, it made a hard left turn. He applied full right brake and regained control of the aircraft. At approximately 10 mph, the right wheel contacted a burm on the side of the runway and collapsed. The aircraft sustained damage to the right wing tip, right aileron and right horizontal stabilizer. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and the pilot was not injured. The pilot had used the parking brakes prior to take off. From experience, the type of mechanical parking brakes installed in the Maule has a history of not completely releasing even when releasing using normal procedures.
