From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft N61WB departed bwi on may 16, 2002 destination gso. According to the PIC the aircraft lost electrical power at about 3,000 ft after takeoff. PIC decided to continue his flight to gso where the aircraft is based. PIC selected gear down on approach into gso and heard the gear go partially down. Without any indicating lights to confirm the gear position the PIC decided to manually extend the gear. The PIC delegated the duty of cranking the gear down to a pax (owner) so he could concentrate on flying the aircraft. To confirm the gear was down without and indicating lights the PIC confirmed the gear was down by reaching behind him and trying to turn the handle. Upon landing at gso the PIC indicated that when the propeller struck the ground he knew they had cranked the gear the wrong way and the gear was not down it was up. The aircraft landed with gear up at gso at 1807 local time with no injuries, minor aircraft damage to the belly of the aircraft and a prop strike.
