From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot taxied the airplane to the end of the grass strip, and positioned the airplane to depart the strip diagonally, in an effort to take advantage of the existing wind conditions. During the takeoff, the airplane began to climb; however it remained in ground effect. The airplane then struck a tree and a power line, shearing off the right wing from the fuselage. The airplane descended back to the ground, nosed over, and came to rest inverted in a hay field. High density altitude was a causal factor, it was computed to be 3,500 at the time the accident occurred.
