From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On the third landing attempt of a series of practice takeoff and landings at Port Clinton airport (pcw), the pilot reported experiencing an updraft on the left wing while passing over the end of runway 36. The pilot said she corrected the aircraft attitude to level the wings. The pilot then said she heard the stall horn, saw the warning annunciator and had a hard landing on runway 36. Both wings buckled and bent approximately 5 feet from each wing tip. The pilot reported that both tip tanks were full of fuel at the time.
