From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During landing roll, aircraft ran off the departure end of runway 32, then nosed down an embankment onto an access road for the golf course and runway and tipped upside down. The pilot flew from monroe county airport (mnv), madisonville, TN, stopped for fuel at gatlinburg-pigeon forge airport (gkt), sevierville, TN, and continued to 2NC0. The flights were conducted under VFR, and the pilot did not file a flight plan. The pilot had flown two approaches before the accident landing and touched down approximately 1000 feet from the end of the runway. Skidmarks indicate intermittent braking until approximately 200 feet from the end of the runway, at which point the skid marks became continuous to the end of the runway. Marks in the grass indicate that the brakes were locked until the aircraft tipped over the embankment.

As the FAA filed it
