From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The PIC indicated that the sun glare from the west made it difficult for him to identify and land on runway 26. As the pilot was on short final to runway 26, he inadvertently landed on the gravel infield of the airport located between runway 26 and the taxiway. Upon contact with the gravel, the nose wheel collapsed. A local a&p/ia that worked at the airport inspected this aircraft and determined that there was no structural damage. The pilot was counseled on how to land on the runway when the sun is setting. Issued warning notice to pilot.
