From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Instructor and multiengine student were landing at fxe in a pa 23-250, N393G. The multiengine instructor was operating the flight controls and the student was observing. The aircraft is equipped with one set of brakes at the left pilot position. The aircraft landed on the centerline of rwy 26 at fxe at which time the instructor requested the student apply the brakes. The brakes were applied asymmetrically resulting in the aircraft swerving to the left. The instructor told the student to stop breaking, but the student was slow to respond. The aircraft left the runway and the left propeller struck a runway light before the instructor could bring the aircraft back to runway center. The aircraft was then taxied to the ramp for inspection and repairs.
