From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft landed Paine field, runway 164 and was instructed to taxi onto runway 11 to the "east condos". The pilot's hangar is located in the "east condos". When the pilot came to the end of runway 11 (29 threshold) instead of turning to the left onto the ramp, he kept going past the end of the runway and runway end identifier lights and into the mud and grass. The airport removed the asphalt and planted grass in this area 6 months prior to this incident. The pilot relied on his own memory of the airport layout instead of watching the indications on the airport facility. The ground controller tried to warn the pilot of his impending departure from hard paved surface to grass but it was too late for the pilot to react. The aircraft was towed to the owner's hangar by the airport fire department.
