From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During the flight, 3 touch and go's were performed without incident, all with a slight left quartering crosswind. On the fourth landing, the pilot touched down on the left main gear followed by the right main gear on centerline, a normal uneventful touchdown. He raised the flaps, and was about to apply power for the takeoff when suddenly a wind burst lifted his left wing. The pilot tried to counteract this lifting with left aileron, right rudder and right brakes. These control inputs however, were not effective and could not prevent his aircraft from drifting off the pavement. The aircraft veered off of the left side of the runway into a ditch. Substantial damage resulted. The pilot was not injured.

As the FAA filed it
