From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) After completing 6 full stop landings during a dual instructional flight, the flight instructor elected to authorize the student for his first solo. On the student's first attempted landing the aircraft ballooned several times after round out. While ballooning, the student added power in an attempt to recover. However, the aircraft stalled and dropped nose first to the runway. After 5 to 6 bounces the nose gear collapsed and the aircraft veered off the runway and struck a runway sign, shearing off the nose wheel, bending the left main landing gear, and bending the left wing.
