From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During touch and goes on runway 22 at Blackhawk airfield (87Y), the student pilot retarded the throttle after landing and then applied power for take off. The instructor stated he was slow reapplying power and then the student again retarded the throttle at which point the instructor took control of the airplane and reapplied power. Realizing he didn't have enough distance for take off he retarded the throttle, applied the brakes. The aircraft ran off the end of the runway and nosed over. There were no injuries but the aircraft suffered substantial damage.
