From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. David allen kadel was the pilot and only occupant of a volksplane, N493 that departed concorida, KS, Blosser Municipal Airport from runway 17. Mr. Kadel is the holder of a student pilot certificate and the owner of volksplane, N493. Mr. Kadel had not flown or received a check out in this aircraft. He was taxiing the aircraft but when the aircraft became airborne, the takeoff was continued. On departure, Mr. Kadel lost control of the aircraft in a right turn that would be consistent with an accelerated stall. Evidence indicates that the engine was developing power when the aircraft crashed on a highway in a nose down and right wing low attitude.
