From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During the approach to, and as the aircraft crossed the threshold to runway 31 at Homedale airport, Idaho, the pilot stated that he encountered a significant wind shear condition that he could not counteract with the addition of power or flight controls. The aircraft subsequently dropped hard to the runway surface damaging the engine mount tubing and the left main landing gear oleo strut. No other structural damage to the aircraft noted. The propeller did not make contact with the runway surface, and the engine did not sustain a sudden stop. Neither the pilot or his passenger were injured.
