From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mr. Harkrader rented a Cessna 182 airplane, N37TK, from palmetto sales and leasing, inc., which sustained propeller damage. The propeller damage was sustained somewhere between the airplane tie down location on opa locka airport, opa locka, Florida, to landing and taxiing to a tie down location on Key West International Airport, Key West, Florida. Mr. Harkrader explained that he experienced a problem with directional control, due to the brakes, while taxiing at the opa locka airport. He taxied over to the side of the taxiway and applied the hand brake several times and the brakes appeared to be normal. He took off and landed at Key West International Airport, Key West, Florida, and taxied to a tie down where he discovered the propeller had blade damage on each tip. Both opa locka airport and Key West International were unable to locate a taxi light or any other object that would have shown damage from a propeller strike.
