From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On landing at dfw airport, chqa flight #6490 departed runway 13R to the right and went approximately 250 feet into the grassy area between runway and access road. All passengers exited through the forward entry door, with no injuries occurring. The aircraft was recovered and towed to the American eagle's maintenance hangar. Chautauqua's maintenance personnel performed a Emb 135 recovery inspection (E1000120). The inspection revealed the failure of the nose gear steering manifold. Manifold was removed and replaced per Emb 135 amm 32-50-04. The faulty manifold was confiscated and will be sent to the manufacturer (parker-hannifin) for teardown and evaluation. Aircraft was returned to service 12 June 2004. Pilot's statement is consistent with the failure of the nose gear steering manifold failure.
