From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Pilot reported that the attach bolt for the landing gear to the fuselage failed. (In fact, the nut was stripped from the bolt). The aircraft travelled into soft mud off the right side of the runway and tipped up, striking the wing tip and propeller. After examination at the airport, it appears the aircraft may have veered off the runway due to a faulty brake system, I.e. air in the brake line. After leaving the runway, the left wing spars were bent upward. The left main tire was separated from the left wheel. The wooden propeller was destroyed. The marks on the runway were a solid black residue from the left tire and skipping black residue marks from the right tire.

As the FAA filed it
