From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) As pilot was departing runway 17 in Kotzebue, the aircraft started turning to the left. Pilot applied right rudder to correct the problem, without success. Pilot then increased right rudder pressure and attempted to abort takeoff. Right brake locked up. Pilot later determined that he had been pushing on the brake with the corner of his shoe and was unsure if he ever applied pressure to the rudder at all. Aircraft immediately nosed over and sustained substantial damage . A post accident inspection of the brakes and rudder revealed no signs of defect. privacy data omitted
