From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At FL230 over Yakutat, AK the aircraft engine began to run rough and backfire. The pilot declared an emergency with ATC, and then was able to get the engine to run smooth again by increasing the mixture. Pilot elected to continue to juneau, AK as juneau had better weather and Yakutat's ILS and runway 11-29 was closed. Also a factor in choosing juneau was the aircraft's altitude of 23,000 ft. upon examination in juneau, a leak was found in the aircraft's induction system. The leak was fixed and maintenance checked ok.
