From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was on a local charter flight to a lake cabin and was on low final approach to land on killarney lake when the aircraft struck a small power/telephone line. The line span at that point is about 2000 feet, is unmarked and is very difficult to see even when you are close to it and looking for it. The pilot saw the line immediately prior to impact, added full power and pulled up. The line passed between the prop and the floats impacted the struts and broke. The aircraft dropped out of the air and onto the water from very low altitude. Damage was very limited, but substantial by definition.
