From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Following landing, during first solo, flight student was attempting to expedite his taxi to exit runway in order to comply with act request. While attempting to slow down for turn student inadvertently pressed both rudder pedals at the same time rather than brakes. Aircraft turned onto exit taxiway but turned wide due to speed and ran off FAR side FAR exit taxiway. Minor damage to left flap, landing gear, and left stabulator. Probable pilot panic while attempting turn off from runway following high speed taxi. Subsequent to incident, student received remedial training and phase check from flight school, has continued his training, and obtained private and instrument ratings without further incident.
