From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On March 13, 2005 approximately 30 minutes after official sunset, a PA-28, N5715F, landed at Orange County Airport on rnwy 03. The runway lights were previously activated, and were "on." A short period before, a bonanza (N85J) landed "wheel up" on rnwy 03, and came to rest beyond the touchdown zone on the left side of the centerline. There are no centerline lights on runway 03. Neither the pilot privacy data omitted nor passenger in the landing aircraft noticed the immobile. Unmanned bonanza until just after touchdown. As the pilot was raising the flaps for roll-out, he saw the stationary aircraft and swerved right. The PA-28'S left wing leading edge and lower skin received minor damage. The bonanza's right tip tank suffered minor damage. Airport personnel were not aware of the "gear-up" aircraft until the second plane landed. Investigation revealed, the pilot's privacy data omitted medical certificate was not current, nor could he present airworthiness/registration documents.
