From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) At approximately 1715, pilot of N865SC reports to control tower on short and final unsafe nose gear indication (no green). Opa-Locka tower observed nose gear appeared not to be fully down and locked, but could not verify. Pilot of aircraft attempts emergency gear extension and cycles gear. The nose gear still would not extend and lock. Aircraft landed rwy 18 and nose gear collapsed on touch down. After the mechanic at opa-Locka placed aircraft on jacks and extended nose gear to down and locked position a bracket assembly falls from nose gear area. Damage sustained to both left and right propeller and nose cone of aircraft. M or d submitted.
