From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Flight 1205 departed on 04/30/05, from cle and while enroute to tpa, the 1st class cabin flight attendant reported that an oven started to emit a smoke. The aircraft diverted to orf and landed uneventfully on runway 23 and taxied to the gate. An on-call mechanic questioned the flight attendants and learned that there was not any visible smoke, only hot fumes from an overheated oven. There was not any food product in the oven at the time the fumes were noticed by the flight attendant. The mechanic performed an inspection and operated the various systems on the aircraft. One flight attendant was shaken up but not injured and remained at orf. A replacement flight attendant was flown in. The oven was deferred per the minimum equipment list, and all but 2 passengers reboarded for the continuation flight to tpa.
