From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot briefed the passengers the day of the flight that due to the winds, a soft landing was not going to be possible. However, the injured passenger insisted in taking the ride. Upon landing the balloon bounced one time and at that point the passenger stated that her ankle had been injured. The injured passenger was taken to a hospital for treatment and the doctors discovered that she had a fractured ankle. The doctors performed a surgery on the passenger the following day. There was no other person injured and there was no damage to the aircraft.
