From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Mesa flight 2819 departed wilkes-barre/scranton airport (avp) for philadelphia international airport (phl), while enroute in the vicinity of the Lehigh Valley International Airport (abe) the flight attendant noticed smoke in the cabin. The flight crew had a rear lav smoke warning in the cockpit, and after more communications with the flight attendant, who stated that along with the smoke, the rear of the cabin was hot, the decision was made to divert to abe. After landing at abe the aircraft was parked on taxiway "e" and the passengers were deplaned utilizing the normal airstairs exit. Mesa airlines maintenance determined that the #2 duct temperature sensor had failed and that no other parts of the air-conditioning system was damaged.
