From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) While at cruise, the pilot suddenly experienced engine roughness and shaking of the engine cowling. He made an approach to Kutztown airport on runway 35, but decided to go-around because he was too high. He made a right climb at reduced power of 2100 RPM and approached runway 35 once again. He touched down at approximately 80 knots on the grass adjacent to the hard surface runway, at a point approximately 100 feet from the FAR end of the runway. The aircraft ran off the end of the runway and across the road. The left wing struck a telephone pole and spun the aircraft 90 degrees to the left. The aircraft landed just short of a house on the lawn in front of the house. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
