From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot reported that his voltage was reading low, when he extended the gear for landing at Fort Wayne, he lost all electrical power. He stated that it felt like the gear had extended before electrical power went out, however he called the tower using a hand held radio and advised them that he had lost electrical power and was unsure if the gear was fully down and locked. The pilot then initiated a fly by of the tower so they could advise on the condition of the gear. The tower replied that the gear appeared to be down. The pilot landed the aircraft on runway 23 at fwa on the main landing gear and held the nose up as long as possible. When the nose gear touched down it collapsed, causing the nose of the aircraft to skid down the runway approximately 330 feet before coming to rest.
