From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) During takeoff roll from ogs to mss, at approximately 80 KTS, aircraft struck wildlife approximately 1000 feet down the runway. The impact of the animal (coyote) caused the collapse of the nose landing gear. Aircraft continued down the runway skidding approximately another 600 feet before coming to a stop. As a result, the engine propellers struck the ground, causing the #2 engine upper thrust mount bolts to shear. At this point, the engine tilted downward and caused further damage to the propeller, and engine components. Substantial structural damage occurred to nose gear and right fuselage areas. In addition, propeller fragmented debris penetrated the right side of fuselage causing damage to interior cabin liners. Debris path was also observed on cabin floor. Lone passenger, and 2 crew members escaped injury.

As the FAA filed it
