From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The airman, a student pilot on his 3rd supervised solo flight, was returning to mt. Hawley airport, Peoria, IL after practicing maneuvers in the local practice area. The airman's stated intentions were to practice a few take offs and landings. The airman completed one landing and departure, during the second landing attempt the airman stated "it did not feel right" and he completed a go around. During the third landing attempt the aircraft ballooned during the landing flare and the airman stated he decided to go around again. The airman states "I pushed carburetor heat off and applied full power, while in the process of retracting the flaps the airplane stalled and I lost control."
