From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) On a VFR flight from spring, Texas (kdwh) to grand prairie, Texas (kgpm) pilot reported that on approach to landing at kgpm, that the nose landing gear did not extend. Pilot and passenger verified that the main landing was down and locked. Pilot attempted to recycle the landing gear but still did not get the nose landing gear to extend. Pilot stated he used the emergency procedures from the flight manual to manually extend the landing gear, but still could not get nose gear down. Pilot then reduced airspeed and flew back to kdwh to burn off excess fuel. Pilot attempted to extend the nose gear using manual extension before landing at kdwh. Aircraft landed on runway 17R, and skid to a stop, 60 yards from touch down on the nose cowling. Damage to aircraft was contained to underside of engine cowling, nose gear doors, and engine propeller. Inspectors saw that the left hand main gear door was also bent with a partially broken hinge.
