From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The instructor pilot was on final a few feet above the runway when the tower said to check the gear. The pilot said that the gear handle was down. He looked out of the window and noticed that the gear was part way extended. He took control of the aircraft added power but the aircraft would not climb and it settled onto the runway. The following week an FAA inspector witnessed the gear retraction test. He stated that the gear was cycled 5 times and it worked each and every time with no problems. The gear warning horn was quite weak, however. privacy data omitted This will need to be amended as not all of the information has been received.
