From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Upon inspection of the aircraft at the accident scene the condition of the propeller indicates the engine was not producing power at the time when the aircraft impacted trees after having bounced from the adjacent field. On scene examination of the firewall mounted fuel bowl revealed that it contained some fuel but it was not full. This fuel bowl was found to be free of water. The fuel tanks were examined on scene and although damaged they were not punctured. The LH fuel tank was drained and found to contain two quarts + or - a pint of aviation fuel. The RH tank was drained and found to contain one gallon of aviation fuel.
