From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) The pilot had contacted Bellingham tower stating he had a problem with the landing gear. Aircraft flew past the tower and the tower had confirmed that the left landing gear was stuck in the up position. The aircraft departed the traffic pattern and tried to shake the left landing gear loose, but all attempts failed to get the left gear in the down and locked position. The pilot elected to land the aircraft gear up in the grass between the taxi ways. Inspection of the aircraft revealed minimal damage to the bottom of the fuselage.
