From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

(-23) Aircraft was seen by tower to be taxiing to runway 3 at Flagstaff airport. The aircraft was not in contact with the tower, and the tower had to cancel another aircraft's takeoff clearance from runway 21 because of no radio contact with N82KR. The tower attempted to stop the aircraft from taking off by using light gun signals and radio communications, but had no success. As the aircraft began its take-off roll, it swerved and drifted off to the left, and appeared to be out of control. It left the runway and was able to get stopped just prior to reaching A6 runway turn-off. Initial report states the aircraft canopy flew open and the aircraft contacted runway light with the right hand wing as it left the runway. Minor damage to aircraft was reported.
